Artist ProfileDana Sanchez is an Austin based artist specializing in acrylic paintings on canvas, murals, signs and scenic art. A graduate from St. Edward’s University with a degree in Fine Art and Graphic Design, Dana’s art explores realms beyond the physical universe where fiction and reality meet. Her works are dreamlike and unearthly, luminous and ominous. She aspires to astonish by creating environments of fantastic and cryptic elements which question our perspective of the material world. Dana not only seeks to create the unconventional, but also explores more traditional styles and methods, from commissioned paintings to real world paint applications. Working primarily as a scenic artist for over 20 years, the same passion she has for her personal creations extends into day to day work for film and tv. Inspired by the study of how objects deteriorate with age, nature long removed from human habitation, and creatures dwelling within other dimensions, Dana continues to produce images that transcend the banality of everyday life.
